My dream...

Background Facts:
Typhoon Morakot dumped heavy rain on Taiwan early Saturday and threatened to further soak the Formosa in the morning on August 08 (3.00 am, local time).

My dream:

SHIEH, Hsiang-Chuan, the Secretary-General of the Executive Yuan, Taiwan, made a defend with a call-in on a popular live talk-show in order to demonstrate that the Ma government was doing well and is mercy to the victims of the typhoon:

“I DROVE MYSELF to my office (in the 08/08 morning) and back home at 6 pm. I DROVE MYSELF; I drove MYSELF to the office!!!!”

“In the next morning (08/09), we (the crew) took the FIRST Taiwan high-speed railroad southern-bound. And we were almost caught by the jam!!!”

“Just like I said so, I DROVE MYSELF to my office and went home around 5-6 pm on August 8, which was the Father's Day (in Taiwan). In that evening, I WAS HAVING A DINNER at Howard Hotel (five-stars) with my wife, kids and friends to CELEBRATE the Father's Day, my kids was treating us a meal for Father’s day!”

“COME ON! It's Father's Day, FATHER'S DAY!!! right? And we left immediately after finishing the dinner. COME ON!!!!!!!!!”

“And let me ask you a question, did you (the host) know the accurate information at that time?”

The host: “We did not know, however, YOU are the Secretary-General of the Executive Yuan, aren’t you?”

"Is it IMMODERATE having a dinner on Father's Day???? I INISIST those who criticised me should have their apologise to me"

The host: "We understood, but did you have the information (of the disaster)?

Then, Mr. Shieh hanged up the phone...



Please compare this conversation with another dream regarding Taiwanese leader (Ma, In-joke, or My angel):

"THEY were not fully prepared. If THEY were, THEY should have been evacuated much earlier. Just because THEY stayed, in where THEY live, and, but, you see, THEY didn’t learn, they didn’t realise how serious this disaster was."

(Here, THEY means the victims of the typhoon, meanwhile, his citizens…the poor Taiwanese people)

Flood in Durham

其實也不過就是下了一整天的雨...
昨天下雨一整天又很冷，我就沒去研究室，結果今天去研究室路上一直塞車，還以為自己帶賽...
結果在語言中心下車，地下室停車場已經在水中，垃圾桶還飄到路上...

發現了嗎？限高兩公尺的車庫唷！
然後慘況發生在沿河畔的大小商家，還包含我想說最近去吃的一間中國餐廳～

Durham Miners Gala 2009

這一篇文章我其實想了很久，到底要寫多少？！
想一想因為一來我變（更）懶了，在來好多圖我想留著以後用，最後我一共照了快四百張照片與影片，寫完大概天亮了，所以請原諒我的懶惰吧！


所有人都往同個方向衝，沒錯，那就是主要的表演所在！

Royal County旅館的二樓陽台就是VIP，每年市長與官員都會在此接受隊伍的致敬與表演。當然，該市長也會接受不同的隊伍帶著一些訴求來「致敬」，但市長都很有風度地答禮致意，我相信與台灣的區長的風度大不相同，也不會有條伯伯上前喝阻（架離？！）。

第一次看到DURHAM滿滿的人，據說去年擠入了五萬人次，今年因為是125週年，聽說會更多人！













以上是遊行的大略。模式很簡單，幾面象徵礦工精神的大旗迎風訴說其區域精神，然後跟著一隊BRASS銅管樂或風笛（蘇格蘭），後面跟著該區的人一同遊行，快樂、簡單，但我看到一半超想哭！因為這就是我想了好久的Durham阿！







恭喜以上觀眾獲得挑高VIP席！



一些令人不厭惡的偷渡的訴求，例如工會、勞動權、甚至鐵路國有化的贊成、反對，種族歧視的唾棄等，都出現在遊行中。


再來是我的職業病，去找哪裡有CCTV。
在遊行盡頭，則是樂園！很多攤販在DURHAM大學的運動場上架起了各式遊樂器材與小吃（當然還是以賣薯條為主，唉！）












更可愛的是還有政治人物的演說！

這反而是吸引最多人的活動呢！

鳥東西

是的，這一篇是鳥文章。
主題只是一堆鳥，一堆在我唸書時出現在窗前的鳥東西！
但我真的還蠻愛這些鳥的！

大一點的Durham~~York之旅

好吧，我得老實說，YORK比DURHAM大很多點。
這次是跟一群朋友一起去YORK，也是我來英國第一次離開DURHAM，第一次搭火車與第一次逛OUTLET。
由於行程主要是逛街購物，所以其實我對YORK也僅是匆匆一瞥，我知道YORK的古蹟很讚，所以親愛的YORK，請你務必答應我，讓我下次好好來瞭解你一番！
